What is MIG welding?
Mig welding is Metal Inert Gas welding which is an arc welding process . MIG welding means welding wire is fed into the weld pool by a welding gun continuously . The welding wire and base materials are melted together forming a join. The gun feeds a shielding gas to helping protect the weld pool from airborne contaminants. What should gas pressure be for MIG welding. So the gas supply are very important to Mig welding. Generally, people choose argon , CO2 or Mixed gas to be shield gas.
What MiG welding gas flow rate CFH?
See chart in below.

Argon and welding regulator MIG welding have two types, flow gauge regulator and flow meter regulator.
You can choose the type you like. The difference between them is in the method of reading the gas flow. One is through the flow gauge and the other is through the flow meter.
How to set up a gas regulator on a MIG welder?
Step 1
Set the gas cylinder for MIG welder in the holder, and hook the chain around the bottle.
Step 2
Inspect the hoses attached to the gas regulator. If you find damage, exchange it.
Step 3
Check and confirm the valve of gas cylinder is closed perfectly.
Step4
Turn the adjusting knob of the gas regulator, to confirm it closed. Connect the outlet screw of the gas regulator to the gas bottle valve . Turn the locking nut clockwise until hand tight. Then locked nut by wrench.
Step 5
Turn on the gas valve and regulator knob.
Step 6
Check the gas leaks around the gas regulator, hoses, and connections. Although the shielding gas is inert, But the leakage results in gas loss and in a confined area can result in asphyxiation.
Step 7
Adjust the gas flow rate to right CFH which you need .it should be between 25 and 30 CFH generally.
Step 8
Turn on the MIG welder. Press the trigger of MIG gun to activate the gas valve.
